Phil has over 25 years in the agency business, most recently heading up CMD, where he helped transform the specialty training and publishing company Creative Media Development into a full-service agency with Global clientele including Intel, Microsoft, HP, Banner Bank and JELD-WEN. As President he oversaw all aspects of the agency, including culture, strategy, planning, creative, production, sales, accounting and personnel/staffing. Prior to CMD, Phil also worked for EvansGroup (now part of Publicis) and RJR Nabisco in New York City. He’s a two-time Olympic Fencing competitor and still teaches and mentors young athletes today at a not for profit fencing club the Oregon Fencing Alliance (OFA). Phil is applying the skills and experiences acquired over a long marketing career to Anvil and its clients, to support continued success. Areas of focus as an observer/advisor include: vendor contract evaluation, business development, strategic planning, training and leadership development. With a seven-year history as an Anvil Advisory Board member, he has a unique perspective and insights into the organization. Phil has refined his skills helping agencies in an advisor/mentor role with a host of other organizations, including: Etzel Agency (Sports One), Watson Creative, Cinco Design and Sport Oregon.
